Here are the books for the week of March 30, 2016.
Daredevil #5
Written by Charles Soule, Art by Ron Garney
With just 4 issues, Charles Soule and Ron Garney have been able to differentiate themselves from the previous Daredevil run, and in turn have created a few new characters that I have been enjoying. It's been a fun run these last few issues, but we have now reached the climax of the story and, after the final page we were left off with in issue 4, I'm highly anticipating seeing how things play out. Also, did I mention just how great Ron Garney has made this book?
Jughead #5
Written by Chip Zdarsky, Art by Erica Henderson
Jughead has been the book that has kept me laughing out loud constantly as I read it. It's completely crazy and completely silly and completely everything I could ask for in a Jughead book. It's been a blast watching Jug try and try again to expose the evil behind new Riverdale High principal, Principal Stranger. I enjoy the joy this book has brought me.
Saga #35
Written by Brian K. Vaughan, Art by Fiona Staples
Is there anyone out there who still hasn't given Saga a try? It seems like everyone loves Vaughan and Staples' space opera, and justifiably so. 35 issues in and the hits and surprises keep on coming. With how we left things off at the end of issue 34, I am more than eager to see read the next chapter, as it is with every new issue of Saga.
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #6
Written by Ryan North & Chip Zdarsky, Art by Erica Henderson & Joe Quinones
What do you get when you cross a duck and a squirrel? Well, something hilarious, I'm sure. The cross over event we have all been waiting for is finally happening! And by everyone, I mean me. In this first part of a two part crossover between The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck, Howard and Doreen team up for something big. What is it? I have no idea, but I'm sure, with the team working on this book, that it'll be hilarious.
Wayward #15
Written by Jim Zub, Art by Steve Cummings
Marketed as Buffy in Japan, Wayward has become so much more than that in the year it's been out. It's a great story of massive proportions that involves Yokai, teenagers with magical abilities, and lots and lots of awesome action. Issue 15 sees the conclusion of the third story arc, and everything seems to be going straight to hell. All in all, Wayward has been one hell of a ride that I do not want to get off of.
